High CPAP pressures:
A physiological study

The impact of high pressures on CPAP on physiological parameters has limited data. In this study, preterm neonates on CPAP 5 cmH2O were placed on incrementally higher pressures for a brief period at each level. Cardiac output was the primary outcome.

No differences in cardiac output were noted on CPAP pressures ranging from 5 to 13 cmH2O.
